What Are We For?

So often, as I scroll through social media, I am bombarded by issues that Christians are speaking out against.  Issues from: “Fifty Shades of Grey”, politics, yoga pants, education, global warming, gay marriage, and countless more.  Believe me, I get it.  There is a lot of corrupt stuff out there. However, I think what we are for, is of far greater importance, than what we are against. I think our message gets drowned out by issues.  I think this attitude of againstness, gives people the impression that we are intolerant and unloving. The gospel is not a list of do’s and don’ts.  Rather,  a story of sacrificial love and redemption. I have heard it said, “God cleans His fish after He catches them”. Meaning, once a person realizes the grace and sacrificial love that they have been shown in Jesus death on the cross, trading their sin for His righteousness, and they place their faith fully in Jesus, change happens. It is a response to God’s relentless love. The old passes away as they grow in the knowledge of Jesus. Lives are transformed from the inside out.

Therefore, we should be all about communicating Jesus and the Gospel message.  That is the essence of what we are for!  Just my humble thoughts…

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. John 3:17
