Recently, I have been thinking about how quick we are to judge one another in the body of Christ. We tend to make assumptions based on our own experiences, and often fail to show empathy to one another. I am not speaking about serious offenses or violations of God’s word. Rather, the petty little things that so often divide. I don’t really know why we do this, except that it is our sin nature. We get caught up in the moment, we compare, we build ourselves up by putting others down, we fail to keep the essentials in mind and instead pick away at the details. It seems so elementary. Jesus blood on the cross covers our sins, therefore, God does not judge us because when He looks at us He sees His Son, not our sin. If God has been gracious with us…we can be gracious with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Easy to articulate…harder to practice! Pray we will grow in our grace…seek understanding…and love deeply…today and always friends!
You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart. 1 Peter 1:22
Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32
