I was reminded of the frailty of life this week, as I heard of the tragic passing of a classmate I was saddened to learn that she and her husband, along with their two young children, were killed in a car accident as they returned from church on Sunday. I was struck once again by how fleeting life is. I thought about the reality that there are no guarantees. We as followers of Christ have the beautiful hope of being present with Him when we die. However, for those left behind, the absence is difficult.
Very often we fail to say the words we think, expecting we will have another opportunity. Yet, we do not know how many days we have. Only God does. Therefore, there is no moment better than now to share our hearts and feelings with those we care so much about. Now is the perfect time to talk to our friends, relatives, siblings, parents, children, and spouses. Tell them what we appreciate about them and how they have contributed to our life. Don’t wait! Tell them you love them…today and everyday!
We love each other because he loved us first.
