I remember an old Alan Jackson song that contained the line, “Just be patient, I’m a work in progress”. I think that can honestly be said of all of us. No one has truly arrived, this side of heaven. If we think we have, we are not seeing ourselves clearly. We are imperfect. We sin. We get tired and lazy. We judge others.
However, we who are trusting in Christ for our righteousness, are in the process of being transformed. We are growing in the fruit of the spirit. We are becoming who God called us and desires for us to be. He is bringing about change in us and it will be completed on the day of Jesus Christ. That’s a promise!
Pray we see ourselves as we are…unfinished! Pray we see others as they are…unfinished! Pray we extend to ourselves and to others the grace and mercy that God has extended to us…today and always!
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6
