Confident Faith

Spurgeon once said, “Faith is reason at rest in God”. I believe that is so true. So often the easiest things in life, like resting in God, are the hardest things to do. In this material world, we gain conviction and assurance by our senses. Yet, faith is intangible. There is nothing we can gather using our senses that would provide us with enough evidence. Faith is having complete confidence that what we expect, will come to pass. As the Bible describes it…faith is obeying God’s word with complete assurance, regardless of our situation or the possible consequences.

Hope is not a superstitious, knock on wood, or cross your fingers type belief. Rather, a certainty based in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ which provides us with endless hope. May we remain strong in faith, and in expectant hope, for the fulfillment of God’s promises and His return…today and always!

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Hebrews 11:1
