Was thinking about this whole “deplorable” conversation that is going on in our country. The truth is…I am deplorable…you are deplorable…we are all deplorable. Without the blood of Jesus covering our sin and clothing us in His perfect righteousness…we are the very definition of the word. The dictionary defines as: deserving strong condemnation or of very bad quality. It uses synonyms like: unworthy, unpardonable, wretched, awful, and terrible. Sounds like me!
That is the beauty of the gospel. The more we are able to see our deplorable nature, the more we recognize the gift of righteousness. The clearer we see our sin, the tighter we cling to the Savior. To the extent we recognize the grace we need and have been given, is the extent His unconditional love is revealed to us, and we love Him and others in return. Not to earn love, rather in response to being demonstrated it in perfection.
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21
(This is not intended as a political post…just the random musings of a lady who has a cold and is taking cold medicine which causes her to reflect and over think…and who cares about people and wants them all to hear the gospel message that brings unity…something we desperately need.)
