I find it beautiful when Isaiah prophesies , “A child is born to us, a son is given to us”. The long awaited Messiah, the Savior, was born for us. The arrival of Jesus was and is personal. He came, was born in the same manner we were. Unlike us, He lived a flawless life. Ultimately, sacrificing His very life for you and I. Taking our sins upon Himself as He died on the cross, putting to death all of our unrighteousness and unworthiness. Therefore, through our faith in the finished work of Jesus on the cross, we are made right with God. It is just as if we have never sinned and have always obeyed. That is what Christmas is all about, the gift of a Savior! We cannot save ourselves. We cannot live perfect lives or do enough good deeds to please a perfect God. That is the true beauty of the gift, God sent someone to do it for us. A Messiah…Jesus Christ! It is not what we do, but rather what Jesus has done for us! The Savior of the World…the Messiah…the true gift of Christmas! Pray you are in awe and truly amazed by God’s relentless and unending love for you…a love that was worth His Son’s life…today and always!
For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! Luke 2:10b-11
